When I tried to start apache from XAMPP control panel (version 1.8.3) it complained that my ports were not properly configured.XAMPP >XAMPP Control Panel, then right-click on it and choose Run As Administrator sub menu or go to XAMPP installation directory, then right click on To do so, back to your XAMPP Control Panel and click START button that corresponds to Apache component. 3-2-VC11 on Windows 7 Ultimate (圆4) laptop. I installed XAMPP using this zip file: xampp-win32-1.8. Here is the timeline from the control panel. Now when I click start Apache in the control panel, it gives the message it is attempting to start and hangs. Also Port 443 (I think was being used by Skype) and I stopped the service. I stopped my IIS and even changed the apache port to 85 (ServerName Port=85) and changed the portin XAMPP Control Panel as well.
